By: Donniella Winchell, Executive Director, Ohio Wine Producers Association
Coming to Lake Farmpark in Kirtland, August 4th & 5th is the nationally recognized wine, food and lifestyle event called Vintage Ohio, named by a USA Today readers’ poll as the fifth best in the country. Tens of thousands gather annually to sample wines representing every region of Ohio. It has also been recognized several times by the American Bus Association as a ‘Top 100 Event’, and in Midwest Living as a ‘Best of the Midwest.’
Sixteen wineries will provide a perfect experience for wine lovers at all levels of sophistication to taste, learn and enjoy. Those with experienced palates can chat with winemakers about harvest dates, varietal nuances and dozens of shades of distinction and sip Pinots from some of the state’s premier producers. They will learn about wine appreciation from experts representing the American Wine Society. Those simply looking for fun-to-drink wines will have a plethora of wines from which to choose.
This year the Vintage Ohio Cooking School tent will feature star chef Lisa Delgado who has appeared on the Food Channel and is a regular culinary guest on television stations around the state. She will be bringing a stellar collection of regional chefs to share their expertise.
Vintage Ohio is produced by the Ohio Wine Producers Association as a vehicle to showcase Ohio Wines. This year’s event will also include craft beers, hard ciders and meads produced by our Ohio wineries.
