Spring is so welcome after a long, snowy, cold winter. The sun feels warm, and the birds sing… and it’s time to clean up the yard and house!
The spring clean-up is especially important if you are offering your house for sale. Paul Pavilonis, Howard Hanna Realtor and owner of Enviroscape Landscape and Design suggests the following to maximize your curb appeal and add the spring sparkle to make your home stand out from others in the market place.
Stand at the street—or where you can really look at the front of your house—and being as objective as you can—really look at the house. Are trees and shrubs so tall that they obscure the house? Cut them down or trim them back—leaving space to move behind them so that you can reach the siding and windows to clean.
Add new shrubs or flowers for a pop of color. Get advice for the best plants for your space and for the sunlight during the day. Edge the beds—cut the grass back and maybe add a border of landscape material to define the beds before you mulch. Pick a mulch in the right color and size to accent the beds and your house in the best way.
Enjoy the fresh look of your house, and the attention it will get from prospective buyers. Paul can be reached at 440 478 3927.
