Ok, what do you have? Wrinkles? Uneven texture? Acne scarring? The procedure can target these beauty problems in a wonderful way. Here’s how it works: A numbing gel is placed on the face, and a simple blood draw is performed on our patient. The blood is spun down plasma, which is a golden color, thus the term “liquid gold.” And it certainly is, because it has many beauty-rich properties! Platelet rich plasma releases growth factors, and, when put on a person’s face during a microneedling treatment, helps stimulate collagen and elastin. The actual microneedling treatment passes many tiny needles across the skin. Those needles allow for channels to be made in the skin, and this “injury” helps stimulate collagen. It is further enhanced with the application of the PRP “liquid gold!” Our patients love it, because it is their own cells that are being used to help rejuvenate the skin. The procedure requires very little or no downtime, and is completely nonsurgical.
